Your Existential Crisis Starter Pack

(But like, in a good way)

Yo, ever felt like your faith journey is on a detour through the Bermuda Triangle? Maybe you've questioned traditional beliefs or felt judged for not fitting neatly into a specific theology. That was my experience, and it led me to create Fayth.Org.

Hi there, I’m Fay! Ever get that feeling like God is a meme our ancestors made up but like, might actually exist beyond this crazy, vast universe? Looking for a space to explore existential questions without unwittingly signing up to someone elses worldview? Same. To make a long story short, I believed, then didn’t, then believed differently, then was told it wasn’t right, then tried their prescribed “right way”, then experienced spiritual abuse, then didn’t believe, then tried again, rinse repeat. The tighter I gripped to rigid ideology, the more my faith felt like sand slipping from my fingers. At last, I wanted the permission (in the deepest of my being) to know that my own unique faith walk was good enough, despite it growing, shrinking, shifting, and changing seasonally. So long as I didn’t hurt myself nor others, I wanted the permission to heal.

I craved a space where I could freely explore, discuss and contemplate my questions around God without being persuaded into believing, not believing, or demonizing the “other” — but it didn’t exist. Yet being a first-generation American, the freedom to explore faith hit different. My family escaped a place where atheism was promoted by a totalitarian communist regime, where the government tried to suppress religious institutions and limit church gatherings, and leaders and believers showing public displays of faith faced persecution, including harassment and imprisonment. The government promoted a secular society, prioritizing science and materialism over religion, without allowing both worlds to peacefully co-exist. So for me, given the freedoms of the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution, embracing questions around faith felt ... liberating … patriotic … and by law was my basic human right. Actually, I was given a foreign name which translates to ‘Fay’ in English, so it was almost like the divine knew what I was cut out for before birth. So I took matters into my own hands!

To fill this void, I created Fayth.Org – a space offering free permission to deconstruct and reconstruct my faith to infinity and beyond without a bloody apologetic cage fight. I preferred to lovingly examine divinity like a poet, artist, or musician would view their own work. Not quite denominational, maybe a little mystic, yet generally placed in a lost and found bin exploring the shelves of organized religion with a side eye. And it seems I’m not alone. Through conversations, shared experiences, and a growing community, Fayth.Org has grown to become so much more than just my own musings. It’s blossomed into an inclusive platform for those comfortable with embracing ambiguity, fostering a space where diverse perspectives can coexist and thrive.

Here at Fayth, I welcome all those hoping to question their faith – the unwavering believers, the curious questioners, and the folks who are still figuring it all out. I’m all about ditching the dogma and diving deep into the weird, wonderful world of faith without asking you to abandon your spirituality. You’re allowed to keep your faith while simultaneously being critical of it. Here, we freely talk to God, warts and all. No one’s perfect anyways, so my aim is to show you humanity and the vast emotions that come up when discussing faith! You may fortify, abandon, or shift your beliefs, yet all paths are kosher here. Think anti-faith studies meets inter-faith dialogues – it's the intellectual playground you never knew you needed.

I’m not here to spoon-feed you answers. I’m all about cracking open those sacred texts to get jiggy wit it (yeah you can eye-roll my lame millennial jokes). Wanna discuss how faith applies to trauma? Addiction? Existential crises? I feel you. I’ll explore all the healing paths, from the O.G. 12-step program to exploring digital fasts, and more. Because let's face it, your phone is probably your higher power at this point, amirite?

Speaking of digital, the whole online influencer scene is a total dumpster fire. I’ll help you navigate those radicalizing Christianity as well as those propagating spiritual bypassing BS and New Age #GoodVibesOnly Snake Oil with a critical eye (because let's be real, being born again or awakened shouldn't cost more than your critical thinking skills, ideally). I’m all about encouraging you to co-create with your personal connection to God, which means using tech to enhance your spiritual journey, not replace it.

Digital Bible Journaling Shop Alert!: Feeling the limitations of doom-scrolling on social media? I got you! Fayth.Org's online shop will be offering spiritual texts that are totally stylus-friendly for tablets so you can get creative with digital journaling to highlight, note-take, and erase to your hearts content without fear of making permanent mistakes like you might if you were using paper. I’ll also be offering open-source versions for those who prefer not to pay. Plus, all materials be typeset in the handwritten font designed by artist and philosopher Shantell Martin to encourage play and interaction with the text (because aesthetics matter, people).

Look, Fayth.Org isn't about finding all the answers. It's about openly exploring spiritual questions, connecting with your fellow spiritually-curious peeps, and maybe, just maybe, expanding your world-view by a little (or a lot). So, join us on this wild ride without needing to go through yet another identity crisis (unless you want to, that is). I promise it'll be way more interesting than searching for answers in another testimonial video … although, those can be pretty dope too.

Join the community, ask questions that would make your grandma clutch her hymnals, and let's co-create the future of faith, together. Because frankly, God doesn’t need more bouncers at Heaven’s gate on this side of reality.
